Martin Webster. Secretary

Bene Societas.

A warm welcome to the E.B.F. Derbyshire website. I have been given the huge honour of continuing as President of Derbyshire for a second year and I will do my best to attend as many county matches, competitions and functions as possible during the season and I know Val will give me all her support and keep me on the right track again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my first year as President and I look forward to this season with great anticipation. It is a great feeling when you are congratulating Derbyshire players who have just won a National Title at either Newark or Skegness and being part of their celebrations. Hopefully there will be plenty more of those moments in 2019.

We were very unlucky not to get to Skegness with one of our teams last year, losing out by one point with the Newton team. Let us hope that one of our teams make it this year.

I hope you will all give your support to our Team Managers Russell Robinson and Steve Menzies to enable them to select successful sides in both the Adams and Newton teams but the main thing is that we have plenty of support and all enjoy our bowling. We are playing both our away matches in one weekend this season and staying overnight to avoid travelling. My thanks to Gary Owen our Match Secretary for all the arrangements he has made to make this possible and I hope all our players will support this and make it a successful and enjoyable weekend.

Have a great season and do not let the pressure get to you because remember “Pressure is for tyres”

Enjoy your bowls.
